Revolving Relay turns place value and number comparison into a strategic team challenge.

This whole classroom or single group game can be used in grades 1-5. Teams iteratively adjust numbers toward a shared target under agreed-upon constraints. Success depends on precision, strategic foresight, and thoughtful collaboration.

Students don’t just compare numbers, they transform them. They:

  • Analyze distance from a target

  • Plan efficient adjustments

  • Weigh rule constraints

  • Revise strategies mid-game

Because rules are set collaboratively before play begins, students also experience how constraints shape strategy. A dynamic way to move beyond static number comparison into intentional transformation.

Up and Over is a strategic early math game that strengthens spatial reasoning and number sense through purposeful movement.

Students navigate pathways while making intentional moves “up and over,” building awareness of direction, position, and counting relationships. Through play, they connect movement with mathematical thinking.

Designed for Kindergarten and Grade 1, this game develops:

  • Directional awareness (up, over, across)

  • Counting

  • Finding combinations of amounts that are the same as or equal to a number.

  • Strategic planning and reflection

Because students must think before they move, this game builds language, addition facts, precision and confidence—not just participation.
